Gmail Now Supports Non-Latin And Accented Latin Email Addresses!
According to a new blog post from the official Google blog, Gmail now supports “non-Latin characters and accented Latin characters.” This is a pretty big deal for Google as it endlessly tries to increase its user base.
According to Google’s blog post, ?Less than half of the world’s population has a mother tongue that uses the Latin alphabet. And even fewer people use only the letters A-Z.? That said, every email client will need to adopt a similar function in order for the world to enjoy the benefits of this new improvement, and, it’s really a matter of time and patience.
It’s worth noting that, as of now, this new improvement applies only to Gmail’s email addresses, although calendar will soon adopt this function as well.
Google sums up their long term goal thoroughly at the end of their post, ?truly global email is now even closer to becoming a reality.?
