Email Everywhere And All The Time

How Often People Are Checking Their Email Accounts During Personal Time

New findings from GFI Software, a developer of web and mail security, offers interesting insights into how often people are checking their email accounts during personal time. With the advent of smartphones, everyone has become subject to a high level of connectivity, so it’s not too surprising that 44.8% admit to checking their work emails at least once a day during their personal time.

People Are Checking Their Emails In The Morning, Noon, And At Night

In other words, users are checking their emails in the morning, noon, and at night. And, apparently, survey participants are also checking their email in various circumstances: For example, a shocking 3.8% affirmed that they have looked at their email while at a funeral, and the same percentage of individuals checked their inbox as their spouse was in labour!

Checking Emails During Holidays

Furthermore, vacations are supposed to be a time of relaxation; a time to get away from the trials and tribulations that work has to offer? But, incredibly, 63.3% of survey participants checked their emails during well earned holidays. And, all of this serves to suggest that it’s almost impossible to ignore what seems to be a natural inclination to stay connected through email. It also is a clear indication that there’s a thin line between work life and personal life, and that it’s getting ever thinner!
