Email Marketing Ran By Travel Companies

Recently, Christopher Ratcliff of Econsultancy.com wrote a very interesting post about the effectiveness of email marketing campaigns that are ran by travel companies in the industry. He compared each of their varying efforts to attract the eyes (and money) of their potential customers through their emails. He subscribed for emails to nine travel companies in total, and very descriptively goes through the experience.

What he realized, is that many of the companies didn?t personalize their emails to each individual customer. Furthermore, they also didn?t take into consideration when they sent out their emails. In other words, an email about taking a vacation might be more relevant in the summer than in the winter.

Christopher assesses each company by their email frequency, subject lines, content, and how it’s represented or relevant to their potential clients.
